Eight Day Longcase Clock by Richd Griffiths, Denbigh

This is a stunning oak 8-day longcase clock which is exceptionally detailed and is a wonderful rich color.

If we start with the hood this has a swan neck cresting below this are the square fluted columns and lovely fluted back slats.

The trunk with a shaped door flanked by quarter fluted columns. Whilst the door itself is beautifully finished in mahogany cross banding. The two top corners of the door have a wonderful fan behind them whilst the door has a lovely heart shaped mahogany inset. Then just below the door there are three lovely diamond mahogany inlays.

Finally the base has a lovely applied panel which has been mahogany cross-banded. This is flanked by reeded chamfered corned which set the base of beautifully. It is then raised upon bracket feet.

The eight-day movement with makers name of Richd Griffiths, Denbigh. This strikes the hour and has a square painted face and date aperture. The four corners are adorned with flowers and exquisite patterning which also incorporates some lovely gold leaf. In addition there are two lovely delicate exotic birds to the centre of the dial.
