Description: Jno Potchet, Hedon : This is a wonderful pagoda top oak and mahogany cross-banded eight-day longcase clock, on arched dial. The pagoda top has a beautiful fan inlay to the centre and has full fluted columns, which terminate in brass capitals. The case has a full-length trunk door, which is nicely arched at the top and cross-banded in mahogany. The door also has a lovely brass escutcheon. The base is cross-banded in mahogany and is raised on bracket feet. The eight-day movement with makers name of Jno Potchet, Hedon, striking the hour has an arched painted face, with subsidiary second dial and date aperture. The numbers are in Arabic style. The four corners are adorned with a very pretty flower scenes finished in gold leaf whilst the arch depicts a Victorian shooter seated with a countryside backdrop.
